People say no devotee like him ever existed or ever will.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Knowledge &amp; Wisdom<\/strong>: Raavan was a master of Vedas and Shastras. He knew about the past, present and future.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Administration &amp; Prosperity<\/strong>: His kingdom Lanka was so well-organized and wealthy that people say there was no poverty at all.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Science &amp; Technology<\/strong>: Pushpak Vimaan, golden Lanka, powerful weapons \u2013 all show his genius mind.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Art &amp; Music<\/strong>: Raavan was an expert in Veena and had deep knowledge of music.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you only see these qualities, Raavan looks like a <em>Godly figure<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-af3a7a29abd0968bf41c6a3143a581b5\" style=\"color:#f2008d\"><strong>The Dark Side of Raavan<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>But here\u2019s the truth that Mr. Nikhil pointed out \u2013 <strong>one mistake can destroy all your good deeds.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Lust &amp; Desire<\/strong>: The abduction of Sita was his biggest downfall. He also tried to misbehave with Vedavati and Rambha earlier.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ego<\/strong>: Because of the boons he received, he thought he was undefeatable. This arrogance blinded him.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Breaking of Dharma<\/strong>: Knowledge and power are not enough \u2013 how you use them defines your character. Raavan failed here.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>So even after being a great scholar and devotee, his desires and ego turned him into a villain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-616de5767dd354ccc9eca9b4b0775831\" style=\"color:#f2008d\"><strong>Why Ram Killed Raavan?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Many people ask \u2013 if Raavan was such a big devotee of Shiva, why was he killed?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Nikhil explained beautifully:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Having knowledge and boons doesn\u2019t define your Dharma.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Respecting the limits (<em>Maryada<\/em>) of life defines your Dharma.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Raavan broke these limits again and again. That\u2019s why Lord Ram, even as a human, defeated him to show that Dharma is always above power.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-f9ea27d741611c9d4a4c5534e1e21819\" style=\"color:#f2008d\"><strong>The Symbolism of Raavan\u2019s Ten Heads<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>According to legends, Raavan\u2019s 10 heads symbolize:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Six vices<\/strong>: Lust, Anger, Greed, Attachment, Pride, Jealousy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Four virtues<\/strong>: Knowledge, Devotion, Intellect, Strength<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Sadly, the six vices became stronger than the four virtues. That\u2019s why Raavan is remembered more as a devil than as a God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6fcece64c47eb46d05b483b3222f099c\" style=\"color:#f2008d\"><strong>So, Was Raavan a God or a Devil?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The answer is \u2013 <strong>both.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>As a devotee, scholar and ruler, he was almost God-like.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>But as a man driven by ego and lust, he turned into a Devil.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s why, in India, some places still worship Raavan as a deity, while on Dussehra, we burn his effigy as a symbol of destroying evil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5b173211a5a55b22804df6a79b56061d\" style=\"color:#f2008d\"><strong>Final Thought<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>From our podcast with <strong>Mr. Nikhil<\/strong>, one big lesson came out very clear:<br>\ud83d\udc49 <em>Knowledge, power and devotion are meaningless if you cannot control your ego and desires.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Raavan teaches us that even the greatest qualities lose their shine if we do not respect <strong>Dharma and Maryada<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So next time when you see Raavan\u2019s effigy burning on Dussehra, remember \u2013 it\u2019s not just about him.
